Mahogany credits her skills and effectiveness as a dog trainer to two things: deeply loving dogs and understanding their needs. And spending a decade learning from her two mentors — two of the most passionate, knowledgeable and skilled trainers to walk the earth.
Our Story
Mahogany’s lifelong passion for dogs and their behavior began early—she often jokes that she's loved dogs since before she was born. Her dedication to understanding canine behavior and fulfilling their needs has remained steadfast throughout her life.
Before embarking on her journey as a professional dog trainer, Mahogany worked as a paramedic in San Francisco and gained hands-on experience with dogs while managing a non-profit organization and volunteering at local shelters. Her curiosity led her to mentor under a respected local dog walker, where she honed her skills and eventually founded her own dog-walking business. This venture quickly grew to become one of the largest in the Bay Area.
During this time, Mahogany connected with two highly experienced trainers, whom she credits with shaping much of her expertise. Under their mentorship, she spent more than a decade learning advanced training techniques and approaches, benefiting from their combined 55 years of experience.
In the last five years, Mahogany has expanded her influence in the dog training world, coaching trainers globally and delivering seminars across the U.S. and Canada. Her personal commitment to excellence extends to her own dogs—she actively trains them for high-level competitive sports. In 2023, Mahogany and her dog, Lexie, earned a place on the world championship team and competed in Romania. She is now preparing her next competition dog for future world championships.
Mahogany’s expertise, passion, and hands-on experience make her a respected leader in the field, committed to helping dogs and their owners thrive together.
She couldn't do her work without her team. Her dog Kayo who was her muse and incredible puppy raiser passed in 2024, but she continues on with Remy, Lexie, and Stazja, all of whom Kayo helped raised. Mahogany also added Maddox to her family to help dogs who struggle with small dogs. In March 2025, Mahogany will also add Malinois puppy Hexum, another world team hopeful!
